Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 10, 2026

Beverly Hills Lasers is an independent editorial publication available at beverlyhillslasers.com, operated by Ankord Media in the United States. This policy explains what information we collect when you read the site, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. We have tried to keep it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@beverlyhillslasers.com and a person will answer.

The short version: we are a publication, not a data business. We do not sell personal information, we do not run third party ad trackers, and analytics only runs if you accept it in the cookie banner.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Email correspondence. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you put in the message.
  • Newsletter signups, where offered. We receive the email address you submit and a record of when you subscribed.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics data, only after you consent in the cookie banner: pages you visit, how you arrived (the referring site), approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser details. We use it in aggregate to understand what our readers find useful.
  • Technical logs kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability, such as IP addresses and request timestamps.
  • Local preferences stored in your own browser: your cookie consent choice (under the key ankord-consent) and your accessibility settings (under the key ankord-a11y). These never leave your device.

2. How we use information

  • To publish and operate the site and keep it fast, secure, and available.
  • To understand readership in aggregate and decide what to cover next.
  • To reply when you contact us.
  • To send the newsletter you asked for, if you subscribed. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use your information for automated decision making, profiling, or cross-site behavioral advertising.

3. Cookies and analytics

We keep cookies and similar storage to a minimum. Necessary storage (your consent record and accessibility preferences) is always on because the site cannot respect your choices without it. Analytics is off by default and only runs if you choose Accept, or enable it under Preferences, in the consent banner. You can change your mind at any time. Full details, including names and lifetimes, are in our Cookie Policy.

4. When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who run infrastructure for us, such as web hosting, analytics, and email delivery. They process data on our instructions and cannot use it for their own purposes.
  • Authorities, if we are legally required to respond to a lawful request, and only to the extent required.
  • A successor organization, if the publication is ever sold or merged. This policy would continue to apply to information collected under it.

5. Your data rights (GDPR and other privacy laws)

Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and several US states such as California, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend them to every reader regardless of location, because honoring them costs us nothing and earns your trust:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your information.
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we process your information.
  • Portability: receive your information in a common, machine readable format.
  • Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent: turn analytics off at any time without affecting your use of the site.
  • Complain: lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, but you are not required to contact us before doing so.

California residents additionally have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA and CPRA.

Lawful bases for processing

  • Consent: analytics cookies and the newsletter run only on your consent.
  • Legitimate interests: operating and securing the site, keeping technical logs, and producing aggregate readership statistics.
  • Legal obligation: retaining records where the law requires it.

How long we keep information

  • Analytics data: retained per our analytics provider's settings, capped at 26 months, then deleted or aggregated.
  • Email correspondence: kept as long as needed to handle the conversation and a reasonable period afterward, then deleted.
  • Newsletter addresses: kept until you unsubscribe, then removed from the active list.
  • Consent and accessibility preferences: stored only in your browser, under your control, until you clear them.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers process data there. If you read the site from a region with data transfer rules, such as the EEA or UK, your information will be transferred to the US. Where required, our providers rely on recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy framework.

Make a request

To request deletion of your data, or a copy of everything we hold about you, email us using the button below. Tell us which right you want to exercise. We may ask you to confirm control of the email address involved, and we respond within 30 days.

6. Children

The site is written for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, we collect as little as possible, and access to the inboxes and analytics accounts that hold reader data is limited to the small team that runs the publication. No system is perfectly secure, but the best protection we offer is simple: we keep almost nothing.

8. Links to other sites

Our articles link to outside resources, including clinics and expert blogs. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Check their policies before submitting information to them.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the site. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
